The senior centre is home to the Archives of the community.

There are pictures, articles and correspondence relating to this area.  If you are interested in reading and researching then email for further details.

The archive committee is always looking to add to the collection and would be interested in information on family histories etc.

                                     

 Membership:    About 58                                     FEES: $10.00 per year

 MEALS:      Tuesdays and Fridays- Noon Meals 

including delivery to Kawende Court and seniors at home

Pot Luck  once monthly prior to meeting

Christmas Dinner in December

Includes Birthday Cake last Tuesday each month

 GAMES:     Card Games- whist, cribbage, bridge. Also  shuffleboard, pool, Scrabble

Tuesday and Friday 1:30PM

Thursday 7:30 pm

 COMPETITIONS: Shuffleboard Tournament in March;

 Cribbage Tournaments- Canada Day and Labour Day

$10.00 Cribbage nights- twice monthly from September to April

 SERVICES TO MEMBERS: flu shots each fall; blood pressure clinics bimonthly

Mosaic fashion shows and sale twice yearly

February, Grade 2 students read to members of group

Small lending library with donated books

 FUND RAISING : Rental of facility for:

                               Can hold up to 65 people, and no smoking or alcohol allowed on premises.

 Come and Go Teas, Birthday Parties, showers, family gatherings,

funeral receptions and painting classes,

Spring and fall raffles of donated items

       FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Donations to community groups including school for library book                                                 purchases; honorariums to students, local hockey teams

 ARCHIVES: donations of material are collated and stored in specially designed room which is available to the community for viewing when centre is open or by appointment,

Acts as a repository for family histories of local families.
